This made me doing a bit of trial start with the Combination M and later with my friend in Singapore can send me the L2 one to compared with result as following, and I can tell you that both are not identical and both are differences bag with differences set of camera and lens can fitted.
Top view: show how setting |
Front view: left is Combination and right is L2, L2 a bit wider and taller |
Side view: L2 is deeper |
confirm the base that L2 is bigger |
On the Combination: 1 M8 with one lens in the middle also, but both side and fit one lens by one slot, all together 1 camera and 3 lens and carry with easy handling. |
one reason also because of the top entrance of the main room is too narrow? may be. |
Great comparison photos. Which of these are you using now? From what you remember, which is more water resistant and tougher?
ReplyDeleteThank you William,
DeleteI left only Combination M and it better on water protect due to the top cover design is cover more to the side of the bag than L2, the canvas look similar so it should be the same on toughness. But since Combination M is order be Leica then it about double the price.
Chounchai.

Thanks Chounchai, I think I will go with the Combination as well. The two are now similarly priced here in the United States.

I have had the Leica Combination bag for four years now and have loved it. It has bested many rain storms that most non-Billingham bags wouldn’t have. And had traveled to many countries around the world. The Leica combination bag is a little different in how the gear is oriented when stored inside of the bag, and is great for a Leica camera and three lenses or a Nikon FM series camera and three small primes.
ReplyDeleteI recently ordered the L2 from Billingham directly (cheaper than American prices) and am quite excited to bring it on a month-long S.E. Asia trip I’m planning for the future.
I plan on taking the same set-up I took recently to Vietnam in the Combination bag: FM3a, 28mm f/2 Nikkor, 58mm f/1.4 Voigtlander, 100mm f/2.8 Series E Nikon(because it is only 7.6os). This review helped me finalize my decision to buy/take the L2. The increased size of the front pocket will be nice to add just a few more travel items.
